I first read this in 1972.

In the last city on Earth, the time has come for humanity to transition to the perfect future. A colossal computer has been constructed so powerful that will allow every single person to create their own private universe, to live as they please, for eternity.

Of course, things start to go wrong quite rapidly.

This cautionary tale from Colin Anderson may not be very well written but as a teenager the ideas blew me away This remained my favourite book for many years, reread many times (which accounts for the paperback's appalling condition ("poor" being a generous description of its physical state).

Loaded on the 14th November 2021.
