I first read this on the 1st October 2010 and most recently on the 16th December 2011

Eddie Torres leads a visionary project to colonize far-flung planets. He struggles to succeed, to get his followers to the new home. But when they get there, there is no surcease, the problems continue and must be overcome.

A novel of astonishing achievements and heartbreakingly-lost opportunities.

I almost abandoned the book after a few score pages. the plotline seemed so unlikely. However, do persevere. It turns into a pretty cool, but depressing story. And it is most beautifully written.

Loaded on the 7th March 2020.
